Redwood Deck Boards
While harder than most woods in common use, Redwood is still nowhere near the ideal material for building a deck. For example, California Redwood has a Janka hardness rating of 480. That rating is several times softer than Ipe and Cumaru.
Additionally, although it is resistant to decay, Redwood is quick to weather, and requires regular preservative treatments.
When you take into account all the factors, it becomes clear that Redwood deck boards are an inferior choice, therefore we cannot recommend Redwood decking.
