Miami boardwalk. Ipe deck boards are often used on public boardwalk projects. It seems the governments go with one extreme (cheap deck boards that need replaced every other year) or the other (ipe deck boards that don't even need looked at for at least 40 years). Notice how the 30 year old ipe deck boards are solid, straight and true while the 2 year old posts and rails made of pressure treated wood are warped and splitting from rot.
Even though the installers screwed up these deck boards by using face screws (screwing the deck boards directly to the joists instead of using a proper deck fastener), these deck boards will outlast any other deck material on the market.
