Cumaru Deck Boards

Cumaru is also known as: Baru, Cumbaru, Brazilian Teak, Southern Chestnut, Tonka, Tonquin Bean and by it's family name: Dipteryx Odorata.

Cumaru Deck Boards are imported from Brazil. Cumaru is an exotic hardwood that's almost as strong as Ipe. It costs less than Ipe but Cumaru decking material only last 25+ years without being treated, stained or sealed in any way. Of course that still a long time and far longer than many of the other decking materials discussed here.

Cumaru looks great. It's a lighter brown than Ipe (I don't have a suitable photo of a cumaru deck yet for this page. this site is still in it's infancy).

Cumaru decking is also highly resistant to insects, decay and fungus.

We'll add more cumaru deck board info and photos as time passes.
